According to an official report from the Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt the total amount of potatoes approved for export to foreign destinations has reached 697,710 tonnes. This means an increase of 254,000 tonnes compared to the amount exported last year.
According to the report the European Union is responsible for 18.14% of the total deliveries, while 46.53% goes to the Russian market, and 32.68 to the Arabian countries. The other 2.64% is exported to the rest of the world.Egyptian potatoes are very loved on the foreign markets. The Ministry of Agriculture is therefore trying to double the Egyptian potato production on the medium long term to raise the export and the profit made with it.
