France: En’Diva showcased its Carmine® variety
The French company En’Diva, based in northern France, was present at the recent edition of MacFruit; it is a firm specialised in the cultivation of endive, with 100% of its production grown in water (hydroculture).
Alban Descamps, sales person of the company, says that different countries have different preferences in terms of size. “Italy demands mostly middle sizes; the Netherlands prefers big sizes and some other destinations request smaller ones. The produce can be shipped both loose and pre-packed, depending on regional preferences.”
At the event, En'Diva showcased its entire range of endives, such as its 500 g packet of Belgian endive and the Carmine® variety, a sort of red-chicory that combines a slightly sugary taste with a more bitter aftertaste and whose sale, just like over 90% of the company’s range, focuses on the French domestic market.
