Spain expects normal, stable 2014/15 lemon season

The first estimate for the 2014/15 Spanish lemon harvest by Ailimpo association assumes a harvest volume of 970,000 tons. This would put the harvest volume at roughly the same level as last year, reports the German website Fruchthandel.de.

The definitive result will depend on the coming rainfall and the water that is available for irrigation. The 2013/14 Spanish lemon season ended with a production quantity of 994,000 tons, in which a record 590,000 tons were able to be exported.

According to Ailimpo, the Russian import ban will not affect the branch in the beginning of the campaign since they only started exporting to Russia this past March and this export only makes up 3% of their total export.
