Peru: Inca Invest creates an e-order platform for European customers

Inca Invest, a young French Peruvian company with a strong focus on new technologies, has launched the first electronic trading platform for the sale of Peruvian products in the European market.

This platform enables European buyers to place orders and buy safely by simply creating a user account.

Aurélie Nalet, general manager of the firm, said Inca Invest is primarily devoted to buying fruit from exporters to ship them to their partners in Europe and the United States, as well as to their own customers in Europe.

"We have several segments: vegetables, such as asparagus or snow peas, and fruits such as avocado, grape, mango, strawberries, passion fruit and especially cranberry, as Peru could become the largest cranberry exporter in Latin America in a few years," says Aurélie.

Regarding the current logistical problems of Peru, Aurélie said it was an issue that primarily affected small businesses. "The average freight cost for Peru, for example, is twice that of Brazil, but I think the country is making an effort to improve its infrastructure."

The Expoalimentaria 2014 fair held recently in Lima, gave Inca Invest the possibility of meeting new cranberry and grape producers. "We are very pleased with the fair, despite the difficulties to get in it," says Aurélie.

The firm's future plans include becoming a tax representative via an agreement with LBP Rotterdam and sending full containers and redistributing them in Europe through their computer system. "The company also has great storage capacity and offers re-packaging and discarding spoiled fruit services, which makes it a very interesting option for the exporters," concluded Aurélie.
