BLE peach market message week 34

Germany: meagre prices for peaches

In week 34 in the German wholesale market there were slightly less peaches than in the week prior. Most of the peaches came from Spain and Italy, but there were also peaches from France, Greece and Turkey on the market. Demand was lower due to the bad weather and the prices were not high. The lack of export is being blamed on Russia.

Below charts in German:

Average prices for Italian peaches

The price for Italian peaches was lower than in the previous weeks. On average the yellow peaches were 1 Euro per kilo and the white peaches were 1.31 Euro per kilo. These prices are also lower than the prices in the same week in 2013 and 2012. The decline can be seen on the graph above when the thick, black line clearly goes under the average price for the white Italian peaches.
