Kiwaï, the mini Belgian kiwi

Imported from France and Italy, this small kiwi (kiwaï or Actinidia Arguta), also know as the Siberian Kiwi, is farmed in Flanders.

Although it's shape looks like a gooseberry, it clearly tastes like a kiwi. It can be eaten like a grape and resists well to diseases. It would lend itself well to organic farming, but for the time being is farmed outdoors over 10 or so hectares.

Kiwaï is rich in Vitamin C and mineral salts such as calcium, magnesium and manganese. It contains 8.8 times more polyphenols than an apple and 1.4 more than an ordinary kiwi.

Belgian kiwaï can be found in large supermarkets, but it is also produced in France, Austria, Swizerland and Holland.
