Kazakhstan: New logistics centre to be built in Aktau

On Saturday, June 28, the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new Azersun Logistics and Production centre was held on the territory of the free economic zone "Seaport Aktau". The event was attended by Alex Aidarbayev, head of the Mangistau region, Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Industry and Economics, and Abdolbari Goozal, chairman of "Azersun Holding".

The construction of the Azersun Logistics and Production centre is planned to be completed in December this year. Part of its structure will consist of numerous warehouses for the long-term storage of food products, including fruits and vegetables intended to be later sold by retailers in the Mangistau region.

The total area of the new centre will be 4.8 hectares, including 10,000 square metres of storage space. Warehouses will also be equipped with freezing and refrigerating equipment.

"Creating a new logistics centre will facilitate the development of non-oil sectors in both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. At the same time, it will increase the volume of trade and expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries," the ministry said.
