"The Netherlands exports record number of seed potatoes"

The Dutch seed sector exported a record number of seed potatoes this year. This can be seen from data, gathered before May 31, by the potato seed contact commission (PCC). The harvested seed exported in 2013 amounted to 790,592 tonnes at the beginning of June. This is 12.500 tonnes more than what the 2012 harvest was able to deliver, and almost 3000 more than the total harvest export in 2010.

Germany was the biggest buyer of the Dutch seeds. This season Germany's export fell 89.281 tonnes. Followed by Algeria, Belgium, and Italy with 75.311 tonnes, 70.823 tonnes and 64.228 tonnes, respectively.
