Chile: FEDEFRUTA seeks a new strategy to address the fruit sector

Rodrigo Valdes, president of BancoEstado, invited Juan Carolus Brown Bauza, head of Fedefruta, to speak about the plans that Fedefruta has for the fruit sector over the coming years, in the meeting, among other things, they discussed the producers' access to the banking system.

"We've noticed that BancoEstado is on a campaign, not only to be a provider of money for the fruit sector, but also to train their clients in the financial sector, so that the producers who go to the bank know how to apply for credit according to their needs and reality; be it to convert orchards, purchase machinery or invest in an asset whose return is perceived in the medium term, "said Brown Bauza. Juan Carlos Sepulveda, Fedefruta's manager, also attended the meeting.

Jorge Gonzalez and Maria Paz Martinez, the deputy of Small Business and the assistant manager of Commercial and Small Business Management of BancoEstado, also attended the meeting. "We also spoke about Fedefruta becoming a platform to promote this new strategy that BancoEstado is providing its customers in the small and medium enterprises, where most of the producers we represent are," added the union president.
