Chile: INVERFOODS wishes to conquer Peru, Colombia and Korea with apple snacks

Carlos Correa, CEO of Invertec Foods (Inverfoods), wants the agricultural arm of the Montanari family to continue on the path of profitability and to venture into different countries with dehydrated fruit snacks.

"We have had good results in this area, which has increased by 700% in 2013. Recently, we began exporting these chips to Peru, Korea and Colombia", he said. "We expect better results this year," said the executive, explaining that, in 2013, the company had had a 53% increase in profits over 2012, reaching U.S. $3.2 million.

One of the main points of Invertec Foods' plan for this year is to strengthen and grow in the healthy snacks sector, specifically with dehydrated apple chips. Invertec Foods produces chips for third parties, for example, Dole, Lider, Jumbo and Burger King.

Exchange rate
Invertec Foods exports nearly 95% of their production and the rest is sold in the domestic market. This leaves the firm in a very good position in face of the positive exchange rate.
