New series of RDS sorting machines perfect for citrus fruits

Sorter is a Polish company specializing in the production and service of complete technological lines for the fruit and vegetable sector. It is the first and only company in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe manufacturing machines for sorting, packing and palletizing fruits and vegetables. Modern back-up facilities and a highly qualified staff of engineers and constructors enable to cope with even the most demanding customers’ expectations.

The company recently introduced a new machine, at Fruit Logisitica 2014 in Berlin, which can be successfully used for sorting citrus fruits, apples and other ball-shaped fruits and vegetables with a maximum of 90 mm diameter. The RDS machines have been designed for fast and precise sorting of fruit and vegetables.

Some features of this new machine include:
  • System of integrated moving rollers sorting the product during its transfer to the next segment of machine. This measurement process of fruits or vegetables parameters has a great impact on increasing the quality of soft fruit sorting (minimizing fruit bruising);
  • Original, highly productive video system VISORT designed for simultaneous measurement according to colour, size and external quality of fruits and vegetables;
  • A fast and modern weighing module that enables precise measurement of sorted product in real time, which is several times shorter than it used to be;
  • Hands-off, fully automatic system of main chains stretching with correction of output settings;
  • More than 15 photos per second, which allows detection of even a few millimetres of surface defects.
  • Modern power feed transfer on machine’s receiving boards.

This latest type of sorting machine is the next major step forward in Sorter's development. The company is hoping that this will be the gateway into new markets where there are many citrus growers, such as Southern & Western Europe and especially South America.
