Despite the purchasing tourism and price erosion Migros Basel has achieved the best results of the last decade. Reported Director Stefano Patrignani to the media last week. In the Northwest of Switzerland Migros Basel obtained a turnover of 938.5 million Swiss francs (768 million Euro) which means a sales decrease of 0.3 percent. The turnover of the supermarkets showed a realistic growth of 0.4 percent. In retail this is a significant increase. The operative result (EBIT) of the Migros Basel grew from 29.2 to 32.5 million Swiss francs (26.6 million Euro) and this is not at the expense of the staff. As it happens the number of full-time jobs increased from 2475 to 2513.
