Germany: Vegetables cause delays in train traffic
A fabric bag with rotten vegetables has seriously interfered with train traffic round the German town Esselingen, near Stuttgart. Explains the German website t-online. The bag was in a tunnel under a stretch with eight train tracks. In this bag was a cylindrical object the size of a bucket of which, according to the police, the lid was sealed with tape. The police suspected that the object could contain explosive substances. They closed the train tracks and notified the experts of the Criminal Investigation Department. After opening the object that was in the in the bag, the expert gave the green light. The content consisted only of rotten vegetables
Train traffic had been down for more than two hours. Trains driving on this stretch include amongst others the ICE-trains. Initially the spokesman of the police could not report how many train delays were caused by this indecent. It was also unclear how the bag showed up at this location.
