Edeka receives 'Retail Technology Award Europe'

The German retailer Edeka has, along with its subsidiary Netto Marken-Discount and partner Valuephone received the prestigious 'Retail Technology Awards Europe'. Reports the German website Gabot.de. Edeka received the prize from the EHI Retail Institute during the exhibition "Euro Shop 2014" in Düsseldorf, and received this in the category 'Best Consumer Experience' for the expansion of the Edeka app with an innovative Mobile Payment Solution including a coupon feature. 

With this Award the international jury honours retailers who contribute, "innovative technologies to the improvement of customer loyalty and customer satisfaction". "With our innovative payment method, we offer the Edeka customers an attractive surplus value and we make the purchasing experience for them a lot more enjoyable," said Dr. Michael Wulst, IT and logistics director of Edeka AG.

The Mobile Payment solution applies within the German food trade and connected to this is the mobile coupon feature. The expansion of the beloved Edeka-app has been available since 2013. Since then Smartphone users have been able to pay mobile, fast and safe in more then 120 Edeka stores.
