Agrícola Fraiburgo:

Brazilian apple grower, exporter with 52 years of market experience

As a pioneer with a strong tradition, Agricola Fraiburgo looks always for excellence from growing to harvesting, to sorting and packing in order to supply its customers with high quality fruits for the domestic and overseas markets.

The company expects a normal harvest in volumes for the coming season, with a large improvement in sizes and fair fruits. They forecast that 2014 will be their best year since 2008 regarding the quality of the apples at this time.

The weather has been favourable. During the winter, the number of hours required under 7.2ºC was reached in all of Agricola's production areas and the mild climate and well distributed rains of springtime provided ideal conditions for balanced apple growth.

Agricola Fraiburgo has 500 hectares of apple orchards under cultivation and is also supplied by the production of more than 70 family scale growers to reach a total of around 50,000 MT of Gala and Fuji apples stored and processed in its own facility in Videira.

The orchards of Agrícola Fraiburgo are strategically located in four distinct areas at different attitudinal range to hedge climate risks and spread out the fruit picking: Fraiburgo, Água Doce, Urupema, Vacaria.

In 2013 Agricola Fraiburgo invested in state of the art technologies for sorting and packing its fruits and expanded its orchard area under anti hail protection nets. The long term strategic goal of the company is to be 100% free of hail risks.

Agrícola Fraiburgo exports to about 10 countries, in Europe, Asia and Africa, through its own brands : Apple Planet, Delicious, Fiesta and Snow Apple, observing rigorously the Brazilian and international regulations in all its processes, the company is also GlobalGAP certified.

The business principles of Agricola Fraiburgo are ruled by quality, economic and technical efficiency, customer satisfaction and a constant concern with ecological and social responsibility.
