"From the orders by domestic retailers, we can see how demand of Tarocco oranges is closed, just like that of Sicilan Navelino, as the produce from Calabria has more competitive prices."
"We have started the first shipments abroad of Moro and Tarocco oranges, though still in low quantities. The main work comes right after Christmas. The colour though is fine. In these last few weeks the weather is helping, sunny days and low temperatures at night favour pigmentation and luckily the wind also stopped, so we do not get the ash from mount Etna."
Tarocco Ippolito.
"Prices abroad are very good for big grades (4 upwards), though this year they are harder to get. Medium grades (9 to 6) are more available, but the difference in price is huge."
"Usually, we ship big grades of Tarocco oranges to Switzerland and the UK, though the latter has not started importing yet."
Tarocco Nucellare.
"Moro oranges look good, they are very red and could sell well, but demand is low in comparison to last year, except in Sweden and Switzerland. Northern and Eastern Europe, who usually look for smaller grades, still have not demanded produce yet," concludes Angelo Scrofani.
