Rewe Group: More than 300 new branches at home and abroad

The German Rewe Group has consistently improved its competitiveness through business expansion and targeted acquisitions this year, reports German website Gabot.de. Also there has been substantial investment in the modernisation of the existing branch network. The Cologne based company group, with a turnover of more than 50 billion (2012) is one of the leading trade and tourism companies in Europe. In 2013 they opened 300 new businesses in Rewe, Penny, Billa, ADEG and Toom, building markets in Europe.

The Rewe Group keeps their eye on the demographic changes in property near cities, with consideration for good transport connections. Establishments which offer customers high quality product distribution networks are increasingly of strategic importance.

"We will continue to expand in the competitive German market also through our own product development, therefore we are always looking for the best position and direction. We not only offer our partners the highest operating qualities, but also years of guaranteed rental income." says Dr Christian Mielsch, board member of the Rewe Group.

"Rewe develops your unchained potential. The reason is that for each site from 500 to 5,000 square feet we have an appropriate and successful idea. Modern selections with a large offering of organic and regional food products require planning for success such as opening times, position and accessibility to supermarkets," added Stephan Koof, national expansion director at Rewe.
