Increase of 50 HA tomatoes on Canary Islands

Fortuna Frutos positive about Canary Islands

Forttuna Frutos was present at the Fruit Attraction in Madrid. "For us this is an extremely important fair to be at," Gert-Jan Slobbe explains. Together with Stephane Rion and brother Marco he runs Fortuna Frutos Continental and International.
"Here just before the start of the new season we can still talk to everybody and inform them about our new activities and larger assortment. Our clients come from all over Europe and many of those we meet at this fair."

The company Fortuna Frutos Continental is mainly known because of the import of Canary Islands tomatoes and cucumbers. When the new BV International was established the assortment was increased with the vegetables from the Mediterranean area. "Yesterday we received the first Canary Islands tomatoes again," Gert-Jan Slobbe mentions. He is positive about the new season. "In total we have a 50 HA increase in tomato cultivation on the Canary Islands in the Fortuna Group compared to last year. It is of course a matter of wait and see what will happen this year. Much depends on the weather conditions in both Spain and Morocco."
