Spain: Valencian fruit and vegetable exports break new record

The Region of Valencia's fruit and vegetable exports have achieved their highest level on record for the first seven months of the year within the 1995-2013 period. From January to July, a total of 3,133 million in revenue was reached; 11.2% more than in 2012.

A report from the Council of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Water also confirms that the agro-food sector continues leading the Region of Valencia's exports for the January-July period, with 22.7% of the total, contributing the most towards Valencia's positive foreign trade balance, with 1,514.4 million Euro; 27.4% more than in the same period of 2012.

The Region of Valencia is Spain's number one fruit exporter and third largest agro-food trader with 14.6% of the exports, only behind Andalusia and Catalonia.
