Wallace named president, CEO of Royal Hawaiian Orchards parent

Scott Wallace has been named president and CEO of Royal Hawaiian Resources Inc., general partner of Royal Hawaiian Orchards, Hawaii’s largest macadamia nut producer, the Hilo-based company said Thursday.

Wallace, who has been executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company since January 2012, replaces John Kai, who has resigned from the position of interim president and CEO but will remain a director of Royal Hawaiian Orchards.

Kai, who has been a director of the company since 2004, was named interim president in June following the ouster of of former CEO Dennis Simonis.

Wallace led the company’s effort to launch its first branded macadamia nut products nearly a year ago under the brand name Royal Hawaiian Orchards, the company said.
