McDonald's swaps chips for vegetables and coke for milk

The American fast food chain McDonald's is trying even harder to obtain a healthier image. The company plans to give its customers the option to swap the chips in their menus for lettuce, vegetables or fruit. Only drinks such as milk, water and fruit juice will be advertised alongside the children's 'Happy Meals', instead of fizzy drinks such as coke. Children have to be encouraged to eat more healthily.

McDonald's has recently duty bound itself to this initiative during the 'Clinton Global Initiative' conference in New York. The initiative will be started in 20 important locations - among which those in the US and Germany - to start with and will be realised at all locations by 2020.
