Daumar introduces E-Pack bag

Daumar, a manufacturer of produce packaging and machinery that makes produce packaging, unveiled their new E-Pack bag at the most recent United Fresh exhibition in San Diego. The new bag is made by Daumar's new AS-56 bagging machine, and it aims to make bags that are better for consumers, retailers and the environment.

“The E-Pack bag addresses the growing need to reduce the amount of plastic used in produce marketing,” said Daumar's Russell Dennert. “We call it the E-Pack because it's more economical and ecological than any other small produce bag on the market.” The E-Pack is a welded bag that is made of 100 percent recyclable material. Because the bag doesn't have additional material, like paper tags or metal clips, it can be completely and easily recycled. Dennert added that the ergonomic design of the bag includes a handle that, in addition to making it easy for consumers to carry, provides a good spot for lots of advertising or promotional materials to be affixed to the bag.

The new bags are made with Daumar's new AS-56 bagging machine, which can produce up to 36 bags per minute ranging from one pound to five pounds in weight. Dennert noted that the bags are ideal for citrus, potatoes, onions, peppers and a large range of other types of fresh produce.
