New at Starfruit: bananas from Guadeloupe - Martinique

Starfruit already have bananas from Martinique in their assortment. The bananas from this country are sweeter than normal 'dollars' bananas from Central-South America. There are three brands in the assortment: Planteur, La Montagne (packed in a small bag of 1 kg) and 'Pays'. The size of the last (Pays) is slightly smaller than the banana known to us. The country has developed strongly during the last years in the area of cultivation and the suppliers have been certified in accordance with European norms. For Martinique the banana is the most important agricultural product and also the most important source of income," Cedric Lejeune says.

"The big advantage is that these bananas come from France and therefore are supported by the European Union. There is certainly a market for these bananas. Various clients are already asking for them."
