Sète, a new fruit terminal in the Mediterranean

An ideal hub for the South-North trade, the port of Sète strengthens its strategic position in the Mediterranean with a new fruit terminal conceived to receive fruit and vegetables from all sources linked with a reefer yard behind.

This terminal, in operation since September 2011, is supplied with pallets directly offloaded from vessels and supplemented by reefers. It meets the latest requirements in terms of efficiency and quality for the handling of perishable products, fully under IT control.

A connection with operators dealing with fruit and vegetables
Thanks to its privileged location in southern Europe, the port of Sète affirms itself as a new gateway on the Mediterranean coast, half-way to the Perpignan-Chateaurenard axis.

A new Regional Hub
From 2016 a second 467 m long quay with 14.5m water depth will be available to handle all types of container ships, independently of their cargo. The development of this quay will go along with the installation of minimum 2 additional ship-to-shore gantry cranes.

With the support of the Languedoc-Roussillon council, the port of Sète is becoming a key player in the import of perishable goods.
International operators in the fruit and vegetables sector can now rely on a new partner to effectively meet their logistical needs, including door to door service.
