Belgium: Successful Christmas Happening at D&G Fruit

On Saturday 8th of December the third annual 'Christmas Happening' took place at D&G Fruit. From 7 pm till the late hours the guests enjoyed culinary snacks and drinks. The owners speak of a successful feast at which about 400 clients and growers were present. There was a live performance of FeSteyn, which was enjoyed by all. FeSteyn is a group of five musicians, who bring rousing live shows.

The Belgian family company D&G Fruit has been active in the growing, sorting, packing and trading of apples, pears, strawberries and black cherries since 1960. They have worked from a brand new building since the end of last year. The family company is run by managers David and Geoffrey Bamps.

D&G themselves have a fruit area of 230 HA. From own cultivation 30% of the turnover is obtained and 70% from purchases from third parties. The fruit is bought, sorted and packed afterwards in their own packing station. Just about all possibilities when packing are offered by the company, we do this according to the wishes of the clients. The logistic part has been contracted out by D&G. D&G are the exclusive suppliers of the apple variety Evelina in the Benelux and the UK.
