Argentina: New plan to create fair price for growers and consumers

Argentina’s agricultural community has instituted a new plan, the Frutas y Verduras para Todos, to improve the income of small growers and create a fair price for consumers. It is the program’s intent to reorganise the sector before the 2012/13 campaign commences.

The program was initiated by the Mendoza government and coordinated by the Dirección de Sanidad [Health Office] of Iscamen. Engineer Agr. Gabriel Sanhueza of the Health Office states the plan must also incorporate food safety procedures and the sustained control of quality.
