The chief executive of Sierra Exportadora, Alfonso Velasquez Tuesta, said the British company Berryworld (main blueberry buyer in Europe) is interested in purchasing this product from Peru.
In this regard, he said that the company is in a period of expansion in the international market, and they plan to purchase 2,000 tons of blueberries.
Also, Alfonso Velasquez, said other international companies are also interested in acquiring these berries such as Fresh Result from the U.S. Special Fruit from Holland and Inabata from Japan.
"International Berry companies are coming to Peru to establish their production bases and marketing, and focus on forming strategic alliances with Peruvian entrepreneurs who venture into this business," he said.
