Ukraine: Fresh produce to be stored in bomb shelters

The municipal government of Sewastopol in Southern Ukraine has decreed that fruit and vegetables must be stored in civil shelters throughout the town. 17 bomb shelters could be designated for this purpose. The community needs over 8,000 tons of fresh produce each month to accommodate its many residents. It is, however, in short supply of able storage capacity, causing the produce to decay prematurely.

Some of the shelters though, were already in use, according to local sources. Sewastopol authorities are now investigating the possible improper use of the shelters.
