Oranges are the province's best-selling citrus abroad. Between January and September, the turnover for the export of this product amounted to 10.2 million Euro; 55% more than in the same period last year. Italy is the main destination for Almeria's oranges, followed by Germany and France. The citrus is also sold in less significant amounts to Saudi Arabia, Romania, Algeria, Canada and the Netherlands.
Lemon sales abroad have amounted to 5 million Euro; 24% more than last year. As with oranges, Italy and Germany are the main destinations. Almeria is Spain's fifth largest lemon exporter.
Regarding mandarins, sales have amounted to almost 3.7 million Euro; 17.6% more than in 2011. In this case, the main importer is France, followed by the Netherlands and Germany. Other destinations are Romania, Poland and Moldavia, in Eastern Europe.
