Netherlands: Good year for shallots?
Within the EU, prices are mostly set in Bretagne, France, but other regions are getting a word in as well. At the end of the storage season the price is set per region, as supplies start decreasing in individual regions.
What will happen in the coming season is hard to tell. It’s still early in the season, but demand is already high. Bretagne is low on qualitative supplies right now, possibly affecting price levels. Whether or not these recent developments will depress prices is pure conjecture.
