Belgium: Potato company Muyshondt changes name to Pomuni

After taking over several smaller businesses (Gerona, Servaco, De Wulf and Ammeux), Belgian potato company Muyshondt felt a new corporate identity was in order. Muyshondt means to unite the numerous subsidiaries and present them under a new header: Pomuni. The company has been doing business under its old name for 80 years.

“We want all our activities to be known under a single brand name,” says CEO Jos Muyshondt. “We want growers, customers and suppliers to instantly recognize who they’re dealing with. This new name will facilitate both internal and external communication and help establish a reputation for quality produce.”

“Also,” Jos continues, “we want our own employees to feel they’re part of the same family. There are four separate family businesses incorporated into Muyshondt, and we want them to feel welcome here, while still retaining their individual quality input.”

Pomuni supplies fresh produce under a private label to retailers, wholesalers and food services.
