Pakistan: UAF assistance for kinnow export

University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will provide technical assistance for the support of 375 containers of Kinnow to European Market.

This was revealed during the visit of 3-member German delegation headed by Norbert Traublinger to University of Agriculture Faisalabad here on Monday. The other members of delegation include: Normet Franz, Arshad Mansoor and Shahzada Khurram.

The delegation called on Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan at his Chamber and discussed matters relating to renewable energy as well as export of horticultural produce.

The UAF and German Business Group would sign MOU within a week to start joint venture for promoting mutual cooperation in both sectors.

Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan assured the delegation that standardization, certification and other issues relating to packing, waxing and post harvest management would be dealt under the supervision of post harvest research lab of Institute of Horticultural Sciences. He added that R&D activities would be taken place at Faculty of Agricultural Engineering & Technology.

Shahzada Khurram told that his firm would provide 150 solar street lights and 500 units (one fan, tube light and a computer) solar energy package complementary to the University.

He maintained that 3 renowned Professors having expertise of renewable energy would also delivering lectures to the university students.
