Willem Dijk is careful not to bring out the oranges too early. “Our experience is that the earliest Navelina’s don’t have the right brix yet, but that isn’t the case this season. Usually it’s wise not to sell the items too soon, because those aren’t usually the tastiest. The current Filosofo Navelina’s are tasty and of good quality, and I think they’ll do well this year.”
Having a strong brand is important, says Senior. “You may expect a Filosofo citrus to have the right color, package and overall appeal. Filosofo is strict when it comes to quality control, so we may expect the fruits to do very well the coming season.”
