Arno van den Oord, Champoord:

"Netherlands: "Smaller supply results in higher mushroom prices"

Reasonably good prices are being obtained in the mushroom trade at the moment. "It has been going well during the last few months. Supply is somewhat smaller and that results in prices which are about 20% higher than we were used to
(Euro 1.50)" Arno van den Oord of mushroom and bean sprout wholesalers, Champoord of Ammerzoden tells.

According to Arno the supply is controlled and demand is good. "Especially Germany and the United Kingdom are buying good quantities. Also sales of special mushrooms are increasing. Traditionally this period towards Christmas is not too bad for mushroom sales, therefore I am optimistic about the coming weeks."
