Austria: Criminals sorting onions



The correctional facility of Sonneberg, Austria houses some 350 inmates. To give these inmates something to do they are now trained as sorters of onions and garlic. The items are packaged for retail at local supermarkets. As the prisoners have few privileges, all activities are deemed welcome. The local growers, meanwhile, aren't complaining either...
