Minister Asunción Cristas visits Portugal's stand at Fruit Attraction
Portugal's minister of Agriculture, AsunciĆ³n Cristas, has travelled to Madrid to pay a visit to the Portuguese exhibitors at Fruit Attraction, one of the largest fruit and vegetable events in Europe.
AICEP's delegation in Madrid informed that 32 Portuguese exhibitors are taking part in this year's edition, which brings 600 firms together in a surface of approximately 16,900 m2.
Portugal Fresh, the Association for the Promotion of Portuguese Fruit, Vegetables and Flowers, participates in the event with a total of 32 companies, showing strong involvement in the international promotion of their products.
According to AICEP, producers and distributors from all over the world participate in the event, where "chances for business multiply for all sectors involved in the marketing chain."
In 2011, Portuguese fruit and vegetable exports (including ornamental plants) reached a value of 457 million Euro, growing by 30% in the last five years. Spain is our main commercial partner and Portuguese fruit and vegetables are already shipped to all five continents.
