France: 20yrs confirms kiwifruit Oscar's position in Asia

The 2012-2013 season promises to be particularly successful in terms of quality for the Kiwi Oscar.

The severe winter resulted in an excellent bud burst this season. The rainy spring and dry summer further encouraged the production of medium sized fruit. Overall, French kiwi fruit production was down by 10% in volume compared with the 2011 harvest; however, Prim’land’s production remained stable thanks to the arrival of new producers and its new kiwi plantings.

This year the Kiwi Oscar celebrates 20 years of presence in Asia. Representing 57% of sales of French kiwi fruit in this region (66% in the China–Hong Kong area), Oscar enjoys an excellent reputation thanks to cutting edge expertise in the orchard and management of product quality.

Future projects are on the horizon as Prim’land’s management is preparing for the imminent opening of the Korean market: so the Kiwi Oscar will be expanding its position as French kiwi fruit market leader in Asia.
