Jacob Visser, Olympic Fruit:

"Great demands for grapefruit, volumes increasing"

Olympic Fruit is looking back on a good grapefruit season. "Both the South African and the Mexican grapefruit have performed admirably," says Jacob Visser. "Right now, we are taking in produce from Spain, and the Israel Season has just started."

The grapefruit is still in high demand, in Europe as well as Russia. This is partially due to the fact that the fruit has practically sold out in Mexico and South Africa. The coming weeks export is expected from Turkey and Florida. "This will all affect prices," says Jacob. "The prices are halfway decent now, somewhere between 13 and 16 Euro, depending on quality and origin."
