Germany: Edeka enters partnership with Deutschlandstiftung Integration

German retail chain Edeka has entered a partnership with Deutschlandstiftung Integration last September. The Deutschlandstiftung Integration is an organisation that stimulates the integration of immigrants. Edeka will actively support the project "Geh' Deinen Weg" ("Go your own way"), which helps talented immigrants in their career.

"Integration plays an important part in society," says Markus Mosa, chairman of Edeka AG, "and that is why Edeka feels the need to be involved."

Deutschlandstiftung Integration was brought into being by Chancellor Angela Merkel. Every year 150 immigrants are chosen for the project; during a two-year program the participants are allotted a mentor that guides them through a chosen career path.
