The heavy rains that were recorded in recent days affected cantaloupe production in Laguna, particularly in Matamoros (Mexico) where the harvest was about take off when heavy rains fell.
Jose Santos, a producer from Matamoros estimated that there is between 20% and 30% less harvest for this season due to the weather events that have occurred.
