Peru looking to increase export to Arabic countries

The chairman of the Arabic-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce, Hamed Abou Zahr, stated that within 15 days, it will make clear the conditions under which Peru will be allowed to supply Arabic countries with products like coffee, cacao and fruit.

“We hope that the intended data will clarify export regulations to Arabic countries,” the chairman said. “Our role as Chamber of Commerce is to work closely with companies like Comex and Promperú, and to see how we can get this trade on track.”

Recently, delegates from the Middle East visited Peru to get to know the country and its way of doing business. The chairman stated that these preliminary meetings proved fruitful.

Hamed Abou Zahr also said that trade with countries like Peru might prove to be increasingly important because of the global crisis and the changing climate.
