Exports of organic bananas in Peru totaled USD 57.1 million (FOB value) for the months between January to August 2012, which represented 27% growth over the same period of last year, shipments were of 83.6 MT, and had an average price of
USD 12.13 per exported box.
According to Customs' figures, the main destinations were the Netherlands with USD 31 million (54.28% of the total), followed by the United States with USD 11.4 million (20%), Belgium with USD 3.7 million (6.6%), Germany with USD 3.4 million (6%), among other ten countries.
Also, the banana exporting company ranking was led by the Association of Small Producers of organic bananas of Saman and Anexos (APPBOSA with USD 7.1 million, 12.5% of the total), followed by Central Piurana of the Organic Banana Association of Small Producers (CEPIBO with USD 5.5 million, 9.7% of the total), the Association of Small Organic Producers of Querecotillo (APOQ with USD4.6 million, 8.15% of the total), the Association of Bananeros Orgánicos Solidarios Salitral (BOS Salitral with USD 4.1 million, 7.2% of the total), and the Association of Producers of Organic Banana from Chira Valley with USD 4 million with 7% of the total).

In 2011, banana export had a total of USD 69.6 million (FOB), which meant the 108,200 MT of the fruit were being sent, at an average price of USD 11.78 per exported box.
