The products that Greydanus are offering alongside their potatoes are; potato wine, potato soup, potato herbs and various types of legumes. "The newest product is the potato wine which is a real speciality. The soup was developed by a grower in Friesland and is available in four different flavours such as carrot, tomato, pumpkin and red beet. It is a hearty soup where the flavour of the potato is the main focus."
What Niels finds remarkable is the development in the decreasing amount of potatoes that consumers are buying. "Consumers used to lean towards the larger packaging but the smaller packaging seems to be more popular. You can see that the 10 and 20 kg sacks used to be the most common a few years ago and this has now been replaced by the 5 kilo sacks. It is possible that the packaging will become even smaller in the next few years."
