Dominiek Keersebilck, REO Veiling:
"We have to strengthen Flandria position"
"In order to enter into competition with other countries and markets it is of importance that we improve our position with Flandria. This in the area of quality and surplus value". This as told by Dominiek Keersebilck of REO Veiling. "Examples of surplus value are the supply of products, which are processed and in various sizes. We must look at the various niches in the market and serve the clients as required by them. This also in the area of packing."
"We as REO-auction have developed this vision together and this is our combined vision on the market. Our file of growers is now 1,200 and is expected to be a lot smaller in 2018. This means that growers disappear and other become bigger. In study groups they are thinking about the future and how to react."
"A challenge for the auction house itself is the growers getting bigger. Possibly they find it more lucrative in future to sell their products themselves, without the need of an auction house. Therefore we find an open relationship with the growers something one cannot do without. Buyers are not supposed to leave us with our products. A slight surplus value at a label is the ideal difference."
