German fruit and vegetable dealer Kies insolvent

Fruit and vegetable dealer Kies from the German town of Kalrsruhe has applied for insolvency. Holger Blümle of insolvency bureau Schultze & Braun has been appointed as provisional liquidator. "The company is working as usual" Blumle confirmed in a press release. All customers are being supplied as usual.

The EHEC-crisis caused a clear decrease in the turnover of the company and despite economic measures there is not yet an end to this. Nevertheless liquidator
Blümle does not yet see the company go down. "I am really optimistic. Kies GmbH is a well established company," he says. "Kies GmbH has a long time circle of clients and is known for quality," Thomas Kies, the manager of Kies GmbH, adds. "The idea is, after the restructuring measures which have already started, to introduce the new company again on the market." The provisional liquidator will continue the reorganisation of the company and is already looking for investors.
