US: Freska Produce starts offshore mango season

Freska Produce is getting ready for its offshore mango season, which will begin with Brazilian fruit and then include Ecuador by November.

Managing member and Co-founder of Freska, Gary Clevenger, says that there will be an ample supply this Fall and Winter. Gary says the market is currently in a state of flux as Mexico's season ends and we await the start of the Brazilian offshore season. "Prices will be a little high," he says. "But the most important thing will be keeping the mangoes on the shelves."

He says that the campaign will see sales of Ataulfo mangoes, but mostly of Tommy Atkins.
