Austria: Großmarkt Inzersdorf 40 years

The Großmarkt Inzersdorf is a well-known Austrian wholesaler, which has for 40 years been offering fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, egg products and flowers. About 80 percent of all fruit and vegetables consumed in Austria are sold by this wholesaler.
 
The figures: about 300,000 tons of foodstuff are traded here annually and the annual turnover is round one billion Euro. From 1972, 37 million Euro was invested in the wholesale company. On the approximately 300,000 m2 complex importers, wholesalers and agricultural producers meet. About 3,500 vehicles enter the area of the market daily, which opens at 4.30 am.
 
In April 1969 the building of the wholesale trade in fruit and vegetables was started in Vienna-Inzersdorf. In October 1972 this was opened. Today the wholesaler is close to the motorway and rail services and offers all traders all necessary services.
