Brazil: Growing demand for Pera sweet orange

The growing demand for Pera sweet orange is caused by high temperatures in Brazil at the moment, but high volume supplies are keeping prices low.

Sales of this orange in Sao Paulo, Brazil, have been great compared to previous seasons, boosted mainly by the hot weather, according to a survey conducted by the Centre of Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (CEPEA). Prices will not rise, as the volumes on offer are still high.
