The Office of Economic and Statistical Studies (EEO)of the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG) reported that agricultural exports between January to July of this year amounted to USD 2.141 million in FOB value, USD 3.6 million higher than the same period of last year in which they obtained USD 2 137.6 million.
The increase was due to higher volume of exports of preparations for animal feed (22.8%), banana type Cavendish Valery (24.1%), fresh avocado (21.5%), fresh grapes (23.7%), evaporated milk (20.2%), fresh tangerines (12.5%) and paprika
(14.2%)
Regarding export prices, these increased as in the case of asparagus (19.4%), mango (37.8%), prepared artichokes (8.8%), tangerines (12.5%), evaporated milk (8.5%), which did not attenuate the 5.7% drop in the average FOB price between
January to July. Other products that recorded a drop in export prices were: coffee (-26.0%), paprika (-17.1%), Cocoa bean (-25.0%), carmine (-65.5%), Olives (-18.6%) and semi-milled rice (-46.8%).
Target markets
Peruvian agricultural products were exported to 139 countries. The top destination was the United States (24.7%), Netherlands (10.9%), Germany (6.7%), Spain (6.5%), Ecuador (6.4%) and Colombia (5.9%), which together accounted for 61.1% of total exports.
