In the major German production area over the past week more broccoli has been harvested than in recent times, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website. Besides the favourable weather, more area has been grown this season. Here and there, however, there has been a reduction in the quality and crop losses after the recent heat wave.
Due to the greater availability of broccoli, prices have dropped significantly since last week. Sales are gradually getting stronger, aided by the currently more Autumnal weather.
